Venta de Aires is the oldest restaurant in Castilla-La Mancha region. It is located in the "Circo Romano", right in the center of the beautiful city of Toledo.
Founded in 1891, the Venta used to be visited by workers at the nearby "Fábrica de Armas" (arms factory), devotees of the Cristo de la Vega legend, anglers and bathers from the Bridge of Sant Martín and the occasional passer by in search of relieving their hunger.
Since then, thanks to the excellence of its home cooking, all sorts of people have sat at its tables, attracted both for the quality of its food and the friendliness of the service. Today, as in the past, in the pleasant dinning rooms decorated with craft work visitors continue to enjoy the Venta for its taste of tradition.
Inside, one can appreciated an exquisite mixture of a step back in time and the latest in contemporany trends. Its salons and terraces can be used for all types of celebrations, banquets, conventions and small private groups.
WHAT'S THE MEANING OF CIGARRAL?
Etymologically speaking, many people connect it with the geological nature of the land (stony place or slate quarry). Other people connect it with the vegetation and it is also connected with Arabic terms "small house or springs place", but nowadays, it is popularly know as the abundance of cicadas on summer.
